That’s what a new proposed rule by the Department of Defense (DoD), the General Services Administration (GSA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) would require. The rule would require that federal contractors disclose their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and climate-related financial risk and set science-based targets to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. This would apply to a “significant contractor,” which is one that received $7.5 million or more, but not more than $50 million, in federal contract obligations in the prior federal fiscal year. A “major contractor” is one that received more than $50 million. Both categories would be subject to the rule, but with different requirements. #IdeaoftheDay
