A public service announcement by the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) warns employers that there’s been an increase in complaints regarding the use by applicants for remote work and work-at-home positions of deepfakes (a video, an image, or recording convincingly altered and manipulated to misrepresent someone as doing or saying something that was not actually done or said) and stolen Personally Identifiable Information (PII). So, during online interviews beware of voice spoofing and misalignment of coughing/sneezing/speaking with the visuals. #IdeaoftheDay
