Today is a day to honor dads. The National Retail Federation says that spending for Father’s Day this year could hit an all-time record $20 billion (nearly on a par from last year’s $20.1 billion). Spending is expected to average $171.79, with about 76% of people planning to celebrate dads today. One-quarter of consumers (25%) plan to give “gifts of experience” (e.g., tickets to a concert or sporting event). Another 37% are interested in extending the longevity of the celebration by gifting a subscription box service. Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there! #IdeaoftheDay
