Earth Day started in 1970 as part of the modern environmental movement. The theme for this year’s celebration is environmental and climate literacy. There are going to be teach-ins to educate the community to achieve this literacy by Earth Day 2010 (the 50th anniversary). Find more information about this year’s event here.
