Newly-hired workers must complete Form I-9 to show they are eligible to work in the U.S. E-Verify is an online system that employers can use to confirm an employee’s legal right to work in the U.S. Use of E-Verify isn’t mandatory for most employers, but more than one million employers are enrolled to use it.
