DOL Guidance on Telework

With more companies using remote work arrangements, it’s important to know how this impacts employee protections under federal law. The DOL issued a Field Assistance Bulletin explaining how to ensure workers who telework are paid properly under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA), how to apply protections under the FLSA that provide reasonable break time for nursing employees to express milk while teleworking from their home or another location, and how to apply eligibility rules under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) when employees telework or work away from an employer’s facility. #IdeaoftheDay
