Clocks jump ahead one hour in states in the U.S. other than Arizona (with the exception of the Navajo Nation) and Hawaii and in all Canadian provinces other than Saskatchewan. A poll last year found that 62% of people in the U.S. want the time to remain unchanged, but proposals in Congress to make daylight savings time the “permanent standard time” have not been successful thus far.
