If your business has a group health plan and more than 50 employees, you must offer employees and certain other people the option to continue coverage in the plan after they leave employment or experience another triggering event. This is called COBRA coverage. During the public health emergency from COVID-19, there were extended deadlines of up to one year to make a COBRA election. The public health emergency ended on May 12, 2023, and starting today, the regular COBRA deadlines apply. This means there’s a 60-day period to elect COBRA continuation coverage. #IdeaoftheDay
