Check for State and Local Law Changes Effective July 1

Some localities have new rules that begin July 1, 2026. For example, Florida has a new law requiring mandatory disclosure of fees by public service establishments (restaurants and hospitality businesses). For example, printed menus must state any operations charges, including any surcharge for paying with a credit card; a billboard in the restaurant won’t do. There’s no exemption for small businesses and penalties for noncompliance can apply. #IdeaoftheDay
