Various measures take effect July 1…one week from today. On the federal level, the DoL’s new rule raising the salary threshold for certain workers to be exempt from minimum wage and overtime rules becomes effective today (although there are lawsuits challenging the rule). On the state level, minimum wage rates increase today in Nevada and Oregon, as well as in the District of Columbia. New consumer privacy laws go into effect in Florida, Montana, Oregon, and Texas.
