The National Retail Federation expects more than 165 million people will shop over the 5-day Thanksgiving weekend, which includes an estimated 114.6 million on Black Friday. It’s anticipated that holiday sales in November and December will increase between 3.8% and 4.2% this year, resulting in total sales of $729.9 billion to $730.7 billion. This forecast reflects continuing strength in the economy.
