Five bills, with bi-partisan support, have been approved in committee: The Small Business Development Centers Improvement Act (H.R. 6445) would authorize funding for 4 more years for SBDCs to deliver professional business advice and training focused on strategic planning; Women’s Business Centers Improvement Act (H.R. 6441) would reauthorize Women’s Business Centers (WBCs); SCORE for Small Business Act (H.R. 6450) would reauthorize the SCORE program through FY 2023; One Stop Shop for Small Business Compliance Act (H.R. 4877) would require an Ombudsman to maintain a website with hyperlinks to the small business compliance guides of each federal agency, as well as the relevant points of contact for the guides; and Small Business Advocacy Improvement Act (H.R. 6454) would make clear that the SBA’s Office of Advocacy has the authority to examine international economic data, and represent small business interests in international discussions, particularly in trade negotiations. #IdeaoftheDay
