According to an annual report to Congress, the IRS Whistleblower Office awarded 217 whistleblowers over $312 million in FY 2018. This is a 14.8% increase over FY 2017 payouts. The government urges anyone with specific and credible information about a tax noncompliance issue to file a claim on Form 211 with the Whistleblower Office.
