The Tax Court said he could deduct expenses related to restoring and selling old Plymouths because he had a profit motive; it wasn’t a hobby activity. But he couldn’t deduct unsubstantiated expenses. The court’s decision was affirmed this month by the Ninth Circuit in an unpublished opinion.
