Five years ago, fewer than 5% of employees had the option of working remotely on a regular basis; today it’s 58% at least some of the time. But according to a report from TechSmith, the majority of employers have not adopted new practices needed for things to work well. They haven’t trained managers to lead teams with remote workers, established team or meeting norms, or adopted practices to support working across distances. The report suggests employers need to find “the right mix of tools, technologies, practices, and processes [to] enhance employee wellbeing and performance, and improve alignment with organizational goals.” #IdeaoftheDay
