Under the federal Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, employers with 15 or more employees must make a reasonable accommodation for employees with respect to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical condition, unless it would cause undue hardship to the business. But some states and localities have more protective laws that employers must follow. For example, in Washington, starting January 1, 2027, accommodations must be made by employers of any size; no small business exception. Check the laws in your area and, where necessary, update your employee handbooks. #IdeaoftheDay
