If you’re the owner of a commercial building or a designer of one for tax-exempt organizations or government entities, you may qualify for a deduction of the lesser of the cost of installed improvements to bring a building up to a certain energy standard or a dollar amount per square foot (based on energy savings achieved and whether the prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements are met).
