Can employees criticize their companies without reprisals? Anti-SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participants) are state laws designed to protect employees who exercise their First Amendment rights. There are 40 states with such a law (there is no federal anti-SLAPP law), along with the District of Columbia. The law, which differs from state to state, allows employees to quickly get litigation against them dismissed. Employers may still sue employees for public statements, but cases may face high hurdles. #IdeaoftheDay
