The Family and Medical Leave Act, which applies to companies with 50 or more employees, must give unpaid time off for the treatment of a serious health condition. The U.S. Department of Labor said this includes treatment provided as part of a clinical trial. This is consistent with the DoL’s choice to broadly define “treatment.” #IdeaoftheDay
