Bills introduced in Congress (H.R. 4085 and S. 2347), called the Multi-State Worker Tax Fairness Act would bar states from deeming teleworkers as physically present in their states because they work at home for the convenience of the employer; it would also bar taxing such workers on their non-compensation income. The measure is supported by the National Taxpayer Union.
