A new bill entitled the 21st Century Workers Act (S. 4010) was introduced in the Senate. If enacted, it would create clear definitions of employees and independent contractor for federal tax purposes. As Sen. Mike Lee, who introduced the bill said: “[It] will simplify employee classifications to cut red tape around hiring independent contractors and flexible work arrangements.” #IdeaoftheDay
