According to the National Retail Federation, it’s expected that 60% of all U.S. adults will celebrate today. Spending is expected to be nearly $47.45 per person, for a total of $7.7 billion (a little higher than last year). In fact, 78% will celebrate by wearing green. Parties (42%), parades (14%), and special dinners (27%) are other popular ways to celebrate. Where are consumers shopping? Good news: 11% will shop locally at small businesses and a sizable percentage will frequent local bars and restaurants. #IdeaoftheDay
