That’s according to the 2025 Data Breach Report from the Identity Theft Resource Center. The number of data compromises in 2025 (3,322) increased by 5 percentage points compared to 2024 (3,152). When attacks occur, businesses are required to give notice and protections to customers about their possible exposure. The most victim notices in 2025 were sent by PowerSchool, AT&T, and Aflac Incorporated.
