Tax Credit for Hiring Vets in Energy Sustainable Technologies

The Incentives for our Nation’s Veterans in Energy Sustainability Technologies (INVEST) Act (H.R. 322) would create a work opportunity credit for employers in renewable energy businesses that hire veterans. This would be another category under the work opportunity credit; the basic credit amount of up to $2,400 (up to $6,000 of first-year wages x 40%) would apply. If enacted, it would apply with respect to employees who begin work after 2019.
