Nearly all government offices, businesses, schools, and other organizations are closed today. Today is part of one of the busiest travel periods in the year. AAA predicts that travel will be the most since 2005 and the highest in a decade. It expects 54.3 million travelers to journey 50 miles or more from home (up 4.8% increase over last year). According to AAA, the increase is because of “higher wages, more disposable income, and rising levels in household wealth.”
