A proposed law would give employers a tax credit for apprenticeship programs. Called the Leveraging and Energizing America’s Apprenticeship Programs (LEAP) Act (H.R. 3088), the credit would be $1,500 for an apprentice under age 25, and $1,000 for older apprentices. The employer could take the credit for 2 years. Chances of enactment: who knows?
