That's what the Tax Court told a CPA husband (who ran at a loss) and a real estate agent wife (who was profitable) to do when figuring their self-employment tax because their businesses were not interrelated. The fact that he did her books didn't make him part of her business in a way that would allow his business losses to offer her business profits.
