New information from the SBA’s Office of Advocacy shows that income of sole proprietors increased by 7.1% in the 3rd quarter of 2013, and totaled $1.2 trillion. States with the highest number of small businesses opened in the 3rd quarter of 2013: California, Florida, New York, Texas, and Illinois.
