The Small Business Health Options Program (SHOPs) is an online exchange that small businesses can use to compare health plans for employees. Some states have their own plans, most rely on the federal plan. HealthCare.gov provides information and links for small businesses. SHOPs were supposed to open today; the opening has been delayed until November 1.
Note: Self-employed individuals use the exchanges for individuals, not SHOPs.
