Promise Zones are federally-designated urban, rural, and tribal communities where the Administration partners with local leaders to create jobs, increase economic activity, improve educational opportunities, and reduce violent crime. The original zones include San Antonio, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Southeastern Kentucky, and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. A second round of localities will be designated soon (applications for designation are due November 21, 2014). Find details about Promise Zones here.
