The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has filed for a rate increase with the Postal Regulatory Commission. While the price of a first-class stamp (including the forever stamp) would remain at 49 cents, each additional ounce would cost 22 cents (up from 21 cents). International postage would rise to $1.20 (up from $1.15). Postcards would cost 35 cents (up from 34 cents). Usually rates increase in January, but the increase, if approved, would take effect this April.
