Last year, 12% of employers converted full-time employees to part-timers, according to the AFLAC 2014 Workforces Report. Small “large employers” (those with 50 to 99 workers) must use care in making any change in hours if they want to qualify for the 2016 postponement of the employer mandate (they have to certify under the postponement rule).
