Equally-owned businesses (EOBs) (companies owned 50% by men and 50% by women) account for 17.5% of all U.S. businesses, according to the SBA’s Office of Advocacy. Most of these businesses are family-owned or husband-wife companies. This new statistic is important because it helps avoid an underestimate of women business owners (companies owned exclusively by women account for only 11.9% of all U.S. businesses).
