The USPS began a pilot program in San Francisco in 2012 that offers same-day delivery of items purchased in store or online from 1-800 Flowers, Nordstrom, Walmart, and other select sellers (purchase by 2 pm and get delivery between 4 and 8 pm); Metro Post expanded the program to NYC in 2013. Now it’s available in D.C. (including certain Maryland and Virginia suburbs).
