The IRS announced in its e-News for Tax Professionals (2015-30, 7/31/15) that it was starting an initiative to make early contact with employers falling behind in payroll taxes. If a balance is owed at the end of a quarter, Revenue Officers will contact the delinquent employer before Form 941 is due. The goal is to help employers manage their payroll tax problems.
