This holiday is a boom to retailers, but less than last year. The National Retail Federation reports that 158 million Americans will celebrate the holiday, down slightly from last year’s high of 170 million people. Total spending on costumes, treats, festivities, and, pets will reach $6.9 billion, compared to $8 billion last year.
