Usually you don’t invite the government to tour your premises. But you might want to do so if you have safety concerns and want expert advice. OSHA offers free inspections to small and mid-sized businesses. A safer workplace means lower workers’ compensation costs. No penalties or citations will result from the inspection, but it does make the government aware of any worksite problems found and could trigger penalties in the future.
