Small businesses are supposed to receive 23% of all federal contracts, but the government has yet to achieve this target. Fortunately, it is getting close, with 22.5% of all federal contracts in the government’s fiscal year 2012 awarded to small businesses, compared with 21.65% in the previous fiscal year.
