The FTC issued a final rule clarifying that the 30-day rule applies not only to mail and telephone sales, but also to online sales. The rule requires merchants to have a reasonable basis for specifying a shipping date or shipping within 30 days if no date is specified. If you violate the rule you can expose yourself to penalties up to $16,000 per violation.
