Starting October 1, 2015, businesses that have not updated their credit card processing terminals become liable for fraudulent transactions (currently the processors bear this risk). Intuit reports that while 66% of small businesses use terminals to process transactions, only 52% are aware of new EMV rules. (Read more in my article here).
