November 17 through 23, 2008, has been designated as a week of recognition for entrepreneurs around the world.
A survey from the Kauffman Foundation shows that most Americans believe that the health of our economy depends on entrepreneurs.
Other sentiments I found from the survey include:
- 71% believe that the economy has made it more difficult to be an entrepreneur now;
- 46% say they would start a business in the next five years.
As Washington grapples with helping the financial industry, the car industry, and big corporations in other large sectors, what's being done to help small businesses (a major engine of this economy)?
The survey says that 80% of Americans believe the government should be using its resources to encourage entrepreneurship.
